How the stats are calculated
- Win rate
- Winners ÷ (winners + losers). Scratches — trades that net exactly zero — are left out, so a pile of breakeven trades doesn’t hide a real loss rate.
- Profit factor
- Total won on winning trades ÷ total lost on losing trades. Above 1 means the winners paid for the losers.
- Expectancy
- Net P&L ÷ number of trades: what an average trade made after fees. Win rate alone can’t tell you this, because it ignores how big the wins and losses are.
- R-multiple
- Net P&L ÷ the dollars at risk between entry and stop. A +2R trade made twice what it risked. Enter a stop price to get it, and use the position size calculator to size trades by R in the first place.
- Max drawdown
- The largest drop in running P&L from its highest point. Keep rows in date order for it to be right.
How to use it
- 1Open it
Double-click in Excel or Numbers. In Google Sheets, choose File › Import › Upload, or open the file from Google Drive.
- 2Log every trade
Type over the example row and add one row per round trip after the close. Name setups and mistakes the same way every time.
- 3Review weekly
On the Stats sheet, type your setup and mistake names into the two tables. Look for the setup with the best average R, the mistake that costs the most, and whether you hold losers longer than winners.
